Bredbo BredboThe Bredbo Inn sits at the top of the village on the Monaro Highway, an hour south of Canberra on the road to the Snowy Mountains. It is the kind of country pub that functions as the town’s living room — bar, dining room, accommodation out the back, and a noticeboard that tells you what is actually happening in the district.
Its event calendar runs all year: the Bredbo Truck and Machinery Show on Easter Sunday, the Big Pumpkin Competition at the end of April, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day lunches, the Campfire Cook Off in August and a Car & Bike Show in October. Joker Poker runs every Thursday, and Saturday evening raffles support local community organisations. For private gatherings — birthdays, wakes, engagement parties and the celebrations that follow a wedding at one of the Monaro properties — it is the obvious venue in the village.
