Pialligo Estate sits on the eastern edge of Canberra among gardens and orchards, close enough to the city and the airport to suit guests travelling in but far enough out to feel like a proper escape. After a period of closure the estate reopened under new ownership following a substantial refurbishment, and it once again takes weddings, corporate events and private celebrations across three distinct spaces.
The Pavilion is the largest, a restaurant-scale room with floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed timber beams and chandeliers that holds 420 for a cocktail reception or 350 seated. The Glasshouse is the lighter of the three, wrapped in glass with an ethereal canopy ceiling and private lawns for ceremonies and pre-dinner drinks. Pialligo Fields is the most striking, its black-and-white floor set against timber beams and garden views. Catering draws on local and regional produce and the Canberra district’s cool-climate wines.
