Hotel Kurrajong Canberra opened in 1926 and is one of the capital’s original hotels, best known as the long-time Canberra residence of Prime Minister Ben Chifley. Restored and heritage-listed, it pairs Art Deco detail with modern facilities in the parliamentary precinct at Barton.
Weddings can take the courtyard, where a custom water feature and festoon lighting suit both ceremonies and cocktail receptions, or move indoors for a seated reception under high ceilings and chandeliers. Five meeting and event spaces cover everything from boardroom meetings for eight to cocktail functions for 200, with in-house catering, Chifley’s Bar & Grill, terrace gardens for photography and accommodation on site for the wedding party and guests.
