Lanyon Homestead sits on the banks of the Murrumbidgee at Tharwa, a heritage-listed pastoral precinct dating from the 1830s and managed today by ACT Historic Places. The restored 1850s homestead, barn and outbuildings are set among rambling gardens with views across the hills and river.

Areas of the garden and the outbuildings are available for private hire, corporate functions, conferences, training workshops and other events. For weddings there are several picturesque garden settings for ceremonies and receptions, with the Education Centre and Murrumbidgee Marquee providing an all-weather option, and the site also hosts micro-weddings and elopements. It is less than 15 minutes from Tuggeranong.
